Our Mission:

We have created this platform to increase public awareness of the local food producers and artisans that are located across the State of Connecticut.

Our goal was to provide an easy to use online platform that makes a connection between local producers and local consumers.

How it Works:

We currently have over 1,000 Farmer’s Markets, and Small Business Listings in our directory who provide Connecticut produced consumable products and beverages.

The platform allows site visitors to search for Local Farmer’s Markets, Local Vendors, and Local Products within a geographic circle of their choosing.

Market Managers, Local Business Owners, and Market Vendors can claim ownership of and further enhance, their existing Free Directory Listings.

Farmer’s Market Listings include Market Announcements, Market Vendor Information, Market Donations, Images, Video, Social Media links and feeds, Website links, Market location and hours, as well as links to products offered by the participating market vendors.

Market Managers have the opportunity to create separate Winter and Summer Market Listings.

Business Owner and Vendor Listings include expanded descriptions, operating hours, social media links, social media feeds, website and/or Facebook page links, announcements, user messaging, and Optionally, add products to their Listing.

Market Managers have the ability to expand their online visibility, increase their vendor participation base, receive additional market donations, make event announcements, add social media awareness, and optionally, offer promotional products to their listings.

Market Vendors have the ability to increase their exposure online, provide market participation information, offer and pre-sell market orders, and coordinate for market pick-ups.

Local Consumers are presented with the opportunity to “pre-shop” and place orders online for market pick-ups through a convenient and secure online e-cart system. Multiple vendor orders can be combined into a single order with a single payment, via a variety of charge card types.

Market Pre-Order’s ensure consumer product availability, helps to avoid last-minute “market rush,” provides market vendors with guaranteed pre-sales, as well as helpint to answer th question “what and how much to bring” to the market.

What are the costs?

In order for the Directory to be cost-effective for everyone to use, we have developed a pricing plan that is relatively inexpensive and spread out between vendors, business owners, and local consumers.

Farmer”s Market Listings are free, and only incur charges if the “e-Store option is activated for the sales of Market promotional items.

Vendors and Business Owners are provided with individual listings that are at no cost.

There is an option for vendors to create an “e-Store” with a  tiered system of monthly fees for product listings that is based on the number of products listed.

Consumers are charged a small “user fee” at checkout with each order processed, to help offset the costs of operating the web platform.
